I'm a forty something (hanging on to forty something by my fingernails😉) woman living with my gorgeous family in the beautiful countryside of Normandy, France. I am a mum to four young people three of whom are off doing their thing! I moved to France in 2006 and, with the exception of having my children, it was the best decision I have made so far in my life! I have made huge mistakes in my life, but I can now say, hand on heart, I am a better person (still room for improvement though!😉) My motto is to live today like it's your last, whilst laying down foundations for the future. I'm now at that point where most of my children have flown the coop and it's time for me to lay down the foundations of a new way of life.
Originally, back in 2017 this site was created as a way to mitigate the grief I was going through, and some of my early blog posts were created for that very purpose, now it is evolving into a lifestyle blog, where I will share my particular slant on life as a 40 plus something, on her own in a foreign country* and how I'm dealing with the impending doom that is the menopause and other changes...(does Mother Nature really have to give me whiskers and spots?! I mean. Come on!) I'll also be covering...
Start where you are NOW, don't dwell on the past, it's done and there ain't nothing you can do to change it (unless you've got a time machine!). Who knows what the future will bring (a time machine would come in handy there too!)? The only thing you can try to control is the NOW, YOUR present. That's all it boils down to. Simple. Only it's not that simple and that's where I come in. I will try to find a way through the morass that is life and will write it here, all the things I've tried, all the things that have helped and the things that haven't.
If you want to contact me directly please go to my contact page and fill out your details, and I will respond as soon as I can.
With love

* I'm not really on my own, I have a network of a-may-zing friends here in France, who are often picking up the pieces of my life on my behalf, and some extra special friends in the UK and elsewhere on the planet who, I am sure, polish their halos and put their wings in a corner before they go to bed! You know who you are!!

- Home decor. If you like Farmhouse, Shabby Chic or French style interiors then this is the place for you. Go to my Pinterest account and follow me there, I have eight boards stuffed with ideas and as time goes by there will be posts on a real life French Farmhouse Shabby Chic style home makeovers!
- Fashion, I'm the curvaceous side of the coin and while I like to look good, I'm slowly coming around to the idea that classic pieces have more mileage and the crop tops are for my daughter! There will be some posts on epic fails I have had (I really like to take the mickey out of myself - it's a British thing!😉) You can follow my Pinterest account boards there too.
- Discovering who YOU really are and how you can move forward and create a fabulous future at this stage of your life.
- And finally, working from home. How we can have our cake and eat it!
